The Black Church Movement often viewed as a ‘Sleeping Giant’ that needs awakening and Minority Ethnic life in Britain, there is an urgent need for the Black Church community of all persuasions to stand together and with friends to maximise its political potential. Spiritual and political influence surely must co-mingle for the redemption and legacy of our children and grandchildren in this country!
This is less about political protest and more about political organisation. To this end Minority Ethnic Christian Affairs (MECA) invites you to its next Seminar on Tuesday 17 July 2012 from 10.30 – 13.00 which will be co-hosted by Operation Black Vote’s Simon Woolley to discuss a collaborative way forward. Author, documentary maker and long-time advocate of Black Church political engagement Dr Robert Beckford, will also join us.
At this Seminar we will discuss how we can work together to encourage Black and Minority Ethnic Christians to engage more effectively in the political process through: voter registration, voting, joining political parties, becoming Councillors, MPs, JPs and school governors.
