The Home Office’s Windrush Compensation Scheme was launched on Wednesday, sand the Home Office are planning a series of engagement events around the country, starting with Lambeth Town Hall today (5th April). The Home Secretary and the Immigration Minister have made clear that they are determined to right the wrongs experienced by the Windrush generation. The Compensation Scheme is another step to deliver on that commitment, and it is now open for claims. The Compensation Scheme is intended to provide financial payments to members of the Windrush generation who suffered impact and loss because of difficulties demonstrating their lawful status here in the United Kingdom.
